Hi, I’m Caitlin — an experienced counsellor, Art Psychotherapist, and EFT practitioner based in Bracknell, Berkshire. I specialise in women’s mental health, supporting clients through every life stage - from adolescence and early adulthood to pregnancy, motherhood, and menopause.

I’m originally from the US, where I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counselling with a specialisation in Art Therapy. After several years working in community mental health services in the States, I moved to the UK and spent nearly a decade working in the NHS.

In 2024, I launched Golden Heart Therapy, my private practice offering trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy to women and adolescent girls.

Why I Do This Work

Since becoming a mother myself, I’ve seen just how isolating and overwhelming this transition can be. So many women feel like they have to hold it all together, even when they're struggling.

That’s why I’ve created a space where nothing is off limitsA safe, supportive environment where women can talk about the things we often keep hidden: fertility challenges, baby loss, difficult pregnancies, birth trauma, postnatal struggles, and the daily demands of motherhood. Nothing is too much here. You deserve support.

I'm passionate about normalising the challenges of matrescence (the process of becoming a mother) and helping women feel seen, supported, and reconnected to themselves.

I also understand the ongoing challenges women encounter beyond early motherhood. The emotional load, burnout, identity shifts, and changes that can come with perimenopause and midlife.

Whether you’re a teen navigating anxiety, a mum coping with rage or exhaustion, or a woman facing life changes and burnout, therapy can be a powerful act of self-care.

My Approach to Therapy

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs. Alongside traditional talk therapy, I offer:

  • Art Psychotherapy – for those who find it helpful to express feelings through images (no artistic ability needed)

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or “tapping”) – a body-based method to gently support trauma healing and emotional release

Sessions are guided by you and can change week to week, depending on what feels most helpful on the day.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve supported people with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges, including:

  • Birth trauma and postnatal depression

  • Anxiety, stress, and burnout

  • Eating difficulties and body image

  • Self-harm and suicidal thoughts

  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism)

  • Complex trauma and emotional dysregulation

I aim to create a calm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.
