A gentle space to process and make sense of your birth experience

Birth can be powerful, emotional, and at times deeply complex. Whether your experience was recent or many years ago, it’s not uncommon to be left with unresolved feelings such as confusion, sadness, anger, guilt, and even numbness to name a few. You may have felt unheard, dismissed, or overwhelmed. You may find that certain memories stay with you, or that your birth experience is impacting your wellbeing, your identity as a mother, or your plans for future births.

A Birth Debrief session offers a safe, compassionate space to explore and process what happened — in your own time, in your own way.

These sessions are open to mothers and birth partners alike. You don’t need a medical reason or a diagnosis. You simply need space to talk, reflect, and feel supported as you make sense of your experience.

As a trauma-informed psychotherapist and qualified EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner, I use a combination of gentle talk therapy, active listening, and body-based tools to help you process difficult emotions and shift unhelpful belief patterns. Everything is guided by your needs and at your pace. There’s no pressure to tell your story in any particular way.

Whether you’re:

  • trying to understand a traumatic or complicated birth

  • feeling confused or let down by how things unfolded

  • holding shame or self-blame

  • planning for another baby and wanting to approach it with more confidence and clarity

  • simply needing to say things out loud that you haven’t been able to

A Birth Debrief session can help you feel more grounded, validated, and emotionally at peace.

What to expect

  • 60-minute sessions (online via Zoom or in person in Bracknell)

  • £90 per session

  • Most people benefit from 2–3 sessions, depending on their needs

You are welcome to reach out with any questions before booking. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation where I am happy to talk through what might be most supportive for you. Get in touch to find out more. 💛

"During my 2nd pregnancy I started to realise that I had some work to do in coming to terms with the way my first born came into this world. It was a complicated labour, ending in general anaesthesia and an emergency C-section. I desperately needed to re-visit it in order to process what had happened and make some big decisions about my upcoming birth. Caitlin provided the perfect space for me to open up, asking all the right questions and made me feel safe and secure. My voice was being heard, and this helped me to accept I had experienced trauma and was not being dramatic about it. Caitlin is highly professional, knowledgeable in many areas related to childbirth and motherhood, and she gave me the tools I needed to be able to process what had happened to me.  would highly recommend talking to Caitlin if you are having any issues relating to birth trauma or motherhood! She is a safe space and so very passionate about her field of work! "

Caitlin was exceptional - talking my through my experience and the practical aspect of the tapping therapy was something I found particularly helpful. A physical exercise to refocus, reframe and push back catastrophising thoughts that tend to creep into my mind. For me, that was an approach that I found worked well - acknowledging the fear from previous birth but looking forward with optimism. I  have no hesitation in recommending Caitlin - capable, empathetic and helping practically. Thank you Caitlin.
